Kicking Off Bike Season in Brösarp!
May 27, 2017
Last weekend I traveled south from Åre to Brösarp located in the southernmost region of Sweden. The purpose was to kick off bike season with InspireUs and Focus Camps at the lovely Källagården run by our friends Helena and Petter. It was our second annual Brösarp bike camp and like last year Brösarp did not disappoint.
I like to start off in this area because it's a great warmup for those including myself that haven't been on the bike since maybe last fall. The area consists of gentle rolling hills and winding trails through picturesque farms. The trails are not too technical so if you are looking to get into biking it's a great place to start. If you are experienced it's still a great time checking out this area on bikes. It's my favorite way to explore new places.
We had a lovely group of ladies that joined myself and the rest of the crew to learn how to become better bikers. Levels ranged from beginners to intermediate/expert ladies with one common goal in mind - having fun! Learning new skills, refreshing old ones and enjoying the outdoors with the help of our apple orchard expert Helena and enjoying the start of summer sums up our adventure.
After a long winter of competitive skiing I find it's nice to take a break from focusing solely on myself and instead helping others progress in sports. I think one reason why I enjoy to coach is because it's fun to share with others a sport I find so much joy in. Mountain biking can be a little intimidating in the beginning but with the right equipment and most importantly good tips it can be a sport that you can enjoy for many years to come.
Elin and I will be coaching more camps this summer across Scandinavia. For more information head over to: www.joinfocuscamps.com
